This shortbread is wonderfully straightforward to make, with just four basic ingredients. Creaming the butter and icing sugar together creates that smooth, delicate crumb, while a touch of vanilla adds a subtle sweetness. After pressing the dough into prepared cake pans and baking until golden, the real magic happens—you let the rounds cool just a bit before cutting them into wedges while still warm. This technique ensures that each piece has those crisp, tender edges we all love, without crumbling.

Perfect with a hot cup of tea or coffee, these shortbread wedges are an absolute delight during the holidays or any time you’re craving a simple, comforting treat. The best part? They store beautifully, so you can make them ahead of time and enjoy a taste of tradition whenever you like. Whether you’re sharing with loved ones or treating yourself, these buttery shortbread slices are sure to become a favorite in your home too. Happy baking!
